My next book, OUTSIDE, is getting close to being completed. For the past two years I've been working on it, along with a few other projects, and have dabbled at it several years before that. Now, after many, many notes, outlines, plot tweaks and character enhancements, the first draft is finally done. It clocks in at 640 pages, so it's a substantially larger project than my previous novel, The Keeper of the Flame, which is 460 pages. In this new novel, I really wanted to concentrate on the daily life of regular modern characters with a lot of interaction (whereas my previous two novels involved prehistoric humans and a modern-day loner psychopath), and I went to great lengths to fill out the characters with complex and interesting personalities.
But fear not; there is a major plot to this story, as it is a paranormal suspense novel. Here is the synopsis blurb as it currently stands, to give you some idea of the backbone of the story:

So this novel involves out-of-body travel into the ethereal world, a paranormal theme which adds additional tempo and flavor to the regular lives of our characters.
I'm about a third of the way done with the second draft. After that there is cover design, final formatting, and submission to Amazon for publication. So it won't be too long now!
